ON BEING BEAUTIFUL
By Kaitlyn Blake
What flower can say to itself, how wretched am I, I’m so pink.
What fish can say to itself, how horrifying am I, I’m so flat.
What tree can say to itself, how dark are my leaves, they’re despicable.
So what masterpiece of mine can say, how ugly am I
When the truth is the fullness of the earth is beautiful,
The diversity of every living thing that comes into existence
made by the king of the universe
is a work of art all by itself.
The world is a museum in which we all live
and like art, our creator deemed us beautiful.
